  • Sounds fun. I have a Ghana soccer jersey and some guy in Minnesota got mad at me on the street for wearing it shortly after Ghana beat USA in the last world cup. I hadn't even made that connection when I put it on that morning.

  • 04/27/09--05:38: Comment on Exhaustion by Dan Black (chan 2282418)
  • See this is where I remain an American imperialist. Down with the long trousers! Shorts for everybody! Chris, if you were somehow able to start a cultural revolution whereupon everyone there would wear shorts, it would dramatically speed up the pace of life and efficiency of commerce, thus beginning the steady progression toward prosperity. You can thank me later.

  • 04/27/09--09:36: Comment on Exhaustion by Mom (chan 2282418)
  • Fascinating, though exhausting! I can't imagine wearing long sleeves in such a hot, humid climate. Guess that's why I stay in the cool/cold midwest. Do you need for me to get your tickets to Nice from here?

  • 04/28/09--14:47: Comment on Exhaustion by Peg Achterman (chan 2282418)
  • Oh yes, all of those things! When I lived overseas I wasn't in a hot place (NW China), but the "being different" and bureaucraticness -- that is a good word -- they take their toll for sure. I heard one friend who lives in Kenya say she would look at her face in the mirror and wonder why she was so pale! Not from exhaustion - just from being used to seeing everyone else with dark skin. OK - I must go back to writing. Happy journey-ing Peg

  • Chris I love these accounts of our visit. It was an amazing trip and sometimes can become a blur. The constant flow of vendors with all the eggs, bread and unknown delicasies on there heads made the wait for the tro tro to leave an interesting experience. Keep writing and thanks for your tour services! Ann
